The Wheaton Lions hold a successful 2011 Golf Outing & Steak Dinner

The Wheaton Lions Club's 2011 Golf Outing and Steak Dinner was held at Cantigny Golf Club and Restaurant in Winfield. It was a wonderful success. There were 119 Golfers and an additional 10 people joined us for dinner afterwards.

It was a beautiful day for golf and we all enjoyed a 19th hole social hour and an outstanding dinner.

We heard from a wonderful guest speaker. Melissa Taussing, M.A., L.C.P.C., is the Support Group Facilitator at Spectrios Eye Clinic in Wheaton. Melissa is legally blind and helps people with severe vision problems. Her talk was excellent.

A live auction was held after dinner led by new Lion member George Malsam. This auction in concert with a silent auction raised $8,000.00.

Our low gross score Lion member was Stacy Huels. Brian Haggerty and Joe Brennan were 1 and 2 low gross scores for non-Lions.

As in past years, the proceeds from this event will be used to help provide support, services and equipment to people with hearing and sight impairments.

We look forward to our 2012 golf outing which will be held in the 3rd week of August.
