THE WHEATON LIONS FOOD DRIVE WAS A HUGE SUCCESS
The Wheaton Lions Club invited neighbors from Wheaton, Carol Stream, Warrenville, and Winfield to join in the fight against local hunger. Partnering with Jewel Food Stores in Danada and North Main, the Lions collected non-perishable food on September 5–7 at the Danada Jewel and September 26–28 at the North Jewel.
All donations benefited the People’s Resource Center (PRC) food pantry. To better support PRC, the Lions Club staggered this year’s Food Drive over two weekends, allowing time for distribution before the second round of donations arrived.
This initiative is part of the Wheaton Lions’ “Focus on Hunger” campaign, one of six Lions’ “Pillars of Service” dedicated to serving local communities.
Since 1975, PRC has been a vital resource in addressing hunger and poverty in DuPage County. In 2023 alone, PRC distributed more than 53,000 shopping carts full of food to local families. Still, food insecurity remains a pressing challenge for many in our community.

The 2025 Food Drive collected 10,119 pounds of food and more than $1,000 over the six days!
