THE WHEATON LIONS FOOD DRIVE WAS A HUGE SUCCESS

The Wheaton Lions Club invited all their neighbors in the Wheaton, Carol Stream, Warrenville and Winfield area to join us in the fight against local hunger. The Wheaton Lions Club is partnering with area businesses to collect non-perishable food from September 17th –October 1, 2024.

The Final Count! We collected over 15,000 pounds of food and more than $1,600!

The People’s Resource Center (PRC) food pantry was the beneficiary of all donations. This project is part of the Wheaton Lions “Focus on Hunger,” one of the six Lions’ primary “Pillars of Service” to serve our local communities.

Since 1975, PRC has been a steady resource to respond to hunger and poverty in DuPage County. In 2023 PRC distributed over 53,000 shopping carts full of food to DuPage families. Food insecurity continues to be a challenge for many local families.
