FREE VISION SCREENING

January 21 & 22, 2024

Wheaton Public Library (Children’s Dept.)

9 a.m. to Noon

The “ Lions For Saving Sight” is a community service program that provides a simple non-invasive and cost free preliminary vision screening test performed on young children. It is as simple as taking a picture. The equipment used to take the picture checks for things such as: Farsightedness, Nearsightedness, Lazy Eye and other eye related symptoms. The screenings are free of charge. About one out of 10 children tested are referred to the family’s optometrist for a complete diagnosis.

To the right is a picture of the Vision Screener the Wheaton Lions Club uses for its vision testing. The child being tested just looks right at the smiling face for about 3 seconds.
